The Alliance

Recognising that the issues caused by nitrogen pollution cannot be effectively resolved independently of each other, the Sustainable Nitrogen Alliance came together to combine our respective areas of interest towards our common goal: to secure integrated law and policy addressing the full nitrogen cycle. This broad collaboration looks to understand, communicate and reduce the multitude of damaging impacts on health, the environment and climate resulting from excessive nitrogen use in the UK and through the UK’s global footprint.

About the Alliance

Our broad coalition looks to understand, communicate and reduce the multitude of damaging impacts on health, the environment and climate resulting from excessive nitrogen use in the UK and through the UK’s global footprint.

The Alliance is calling for more joined-up working by the UK Government across all relevant policy areas to reduce water pollution, air pollution, climate change, biodiversity loss, and address soil health and issues in the food and farming sector. We aim to show how this joined-up approach can deliver multiple benefits more effectively for people, nature and our climate.
